The news: AI-powered in-house legal software provider LawVu has announced the acquisition of AI legal drafting platform ClauseBase, as it expands its AI workspace offering for in-house legal teams.

The company also launched LawVu Lens, an on-contract analysis service embedded within the LawVu platform.

The context: The acquisition values LawVu at $350 million. The company reported global revenue growth of 50% in 2025, including 30% growth in Australia, and expanded its customer base from local industries, such as the AFL, Tennis Australia, Monash University and AMP, to global enterprises including Arsenal FC, Expedia and Estée Lauder.

LawVu said the latest expansion is expected to accelerate AI adoption in in-house legal workspaces at a significantly lower cost.

What they said: "The acquisition of ClauseBase and the addition of LawVu Lens reinforces our vision for a more embedded, end-to-end approach to legal AI," LawVu CEO Sam Kidd said.

"We're empowering legal teams to accelerate deal cycles and proactively manage risk, while optimising external counsel spend — elevating the legal function to an essential strategic partner, and ultimately driving better business outcomes."
