Vocus names Nikos Katinakis as new chief technology officer

The news: Fibre and network solutions provider Vocus has appointed Nikos Katinakis as chief technology officer (CTO), effective 1 July.

The context: Katinakis brings more than 30 years of experience to the technology industry, having previously served as the CTO for Zayo Group and group executive for global networks and technology at Telstra.

In his new role, Katinakis is tasked with overseeing network, security and customer operations as well as developing intelligent automation across Vocus’ networks and operations.

What they said: “Nikos has spent his career building and operating fibre networks at scale in the world’s most demanding markets, including North America where AI is driving exponential growth in digital infrastructure demand,” Vocus CEO Andres Irlando said.

“Having worked closely with Nikos over the last few years at Zayo in North America, I am confident he will be a game changer for Vocus and our digital infrastructure strategy,” he added.
