Albanese set to name Abigail Bradshaw as new top cyber spy
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Defence Minister Richard Marles are set to announce Bradshaw as new director-general of the Australian Signals Directorate.
The Albanese government will name Abigail Bradshaw as the nation's next top cyber spy in the first major intelligence appointment of Labor's term.
Bradshaw, currently the head of the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC), will be named the new director-general of the Australian Signals Directorate in the coming days, according to multiple Defence sources who are not authorised to comment publicly.
She will replace Rachel Noble, who decided to leave the organisation a few months earlier than expected after serving almost five years in the role. Noble, whose term was set to expire in December, did not seek a second five-year term from the government.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Defence Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles will make the announcement on the new ASD head in the coming days, according to the sources.
