ASX chief executive Helen Lofthouse says she is unconcerned about Cboe Australia entering the listings market, insisting the ASX is not a monopoly.

Speaking to Capital Brief on the sidelines of the Citi Investment Conference 2025, Lofthouse said that with Cboe’s entrance, the ASX would continue doing what it always had — "competing on a global stage for company listings, trying to make sure we have an attractive listing proposition".

Lofthouse was quick to say that the ASX was not a monopoly in corporate listings, arguing it already competed with exchanges locally, regionally and globally.

“Cboe joining in that process doesn’t really change what’s already a very competitive playing field. It’s absolutely not in any way a monopoly,” she said.
