ANZ prepares agentic AI platform to boost institutional banking
The bank is set to launch “amie”, a multi-agent AI chatbot developed with AWS, aiming to deliver real-time market insights and boost client engagement.
ANZ is preparing to launch a major agentic AI program, known as “amie”, within its institutional bank as the pace of AI adoption becomes a competitive necessity.
The name is an acronym for ANZ Markets Insights Engine and the initiative stems from a project that began with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2023.
Tim Moloney, ANZ’s head of digital strategy for the institutional bank, said agentic AI had significantly improved the bank’s ability to engage with clients and deliver tailored insights.
“It's a multi-agent chatbot,” he told the AWS Summit in Sydney. “Our bankers will be able to ask it anything about markets, from research, news, policy and customer analytics. We think of amie as a personalised markets analyst that our bankers can call on anytime, anywhere.”
