CBA's x15ventures invites other corporates to join its startup program
The Xccelerate competition will invite corporates to help fintechs and startups find partnership pathways with major enterprises.
Commonwealth Bank’s venture-scaler arm, x15ventures, is expanding its flagship fintech competition, Xccelerate, to include other corporate partners — broadening opportunities for startups and early-stage ventures.
Xccelerate helps founders navigate potential partnerships with CBA, connecting them with mentors and experts within x15 and the bank. This year, nearly 100 startups entered, with Seattle data change management platform Gable emerging as the winner.
While CBA has continued working with some non-winners, in 2024 it piloted a partnership with QBE Ventures to give applicants broader access to major corporate collaborations. That initiative is now being formally launched as “Xccelerate Open".
"We’re expanding the value of Xccelerate, bringing in other enterprise businesses that have similar appetites to partner with early stage companies and are willing to meaningfully engage in the same way (as CBA),” x15 portfolio director Laura Faulconer told Capital Brief.
