Crypto played a big role in the US election. Coinbase wants the same for Australia.
Through its Stand With Crypto initiative, the company is looking to turn local crypto enthusiasts into evangelists for clearer regulation.
After cryptocurrency played an outsized role in the recent US election, Coinbase is aiming to replicate that influence in Australia next year.
On Monday, the company launched Stand With Crypto in Australia, an initiative designed to mobilise crypto enthusiasts to lobby their representatives for clearer regulation.
"Stand With Crypto is this grassroots advocacy movement we launched really successfully in the US, it played a very impactful role in the US election," Coinbase VP of international policy Tom Duff Gordon told Capital Brief.
"We had hundreds of thousands of people going to the website trying to figure out which Congress person is pro-crypto or not pro-crypto."
