Dumping Jacinta Price won't end leadership rumblings for Sussan Ley
Liberal sources have shed light on the ructions inside the party after Jacinta Price was dumped from the frontbench after failing to support leader Sussan Ley.
Within hours of Jacinta Nampijinpa Price’s dumping from the Coalition frontbench, the conservative media backers who helped propel her rise were delivering ominous warnings to leader Sussan Ley.
“This is the official start of things,” Sky News host Peta Credlin, former chief of staff to Tony Abbott, declared.
“I would regard this as the beginning of the end for Sussan Ley, given the support out there in the community that Jacinta Price has.”
Price’s broad support in the community may be overstated, but her influence in the conservative Liberal faction now likely to wage open war on their leader is not.
