Former Biden aide Ben LaBolt on Mamdani, new media and linking up with Australia's Mandala
DC-based Bully Pulpit International, led by a former top Biden official, has struck a strategic partnership with one of Canberra's most influential advisory groups.
One of Joe Biden's most senior advisers has urged US Democrats to campaign on affordability in the wake of Zohran Mamdani's New York mayoral election victory, as his Washington-based firm announced a strategic partnership with one of Canberra's most influential advisory groups.
In an exclusive interview with Capital Brief to announce a tie-up between his public relations outfit Bully Pulpit International (BPI) and Mandala Partners, former White House communications director Ben LaBolt said the Democrats are in a “rebuilding stage” after Donald Trump’s return to power, but “new blood and new energy” had consistently revived the party.
“New blood and new energy is something that we've had success with over the years, and you’re seeing an incredible amount of energy right now. But the midterms and the [presidential] primary are a ways away; there's a lot to develop before we'll know for sure,” he said.
LaBolt has led BPI since he left the White House in 2023, while Mandala has produced influential research on economics and technology issues, most recently a report for OpenAI on the potential benefits of AI to the Australian economy.
