Four months after beginning his defamation proceedings against News Corp Australia's Herald Sun, The Daily Telegraph and The Advertiser, Angelo Pandeli has settled his case.

In a statement to Capital Brief, Pandeli’s lawyer, Paul McGirr, said, "the matter has now been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties. Mr Pandeli has informed the publishers that the articles, podcasts and videos contained false information. On that basis, Nationwide News Pty Limited, The Herald and Weekly Times Pty Ltd and Advertiser Newspapers Pty Ltd have agreed to remove the articles, podcasts and videos that were the subject of the claim".

The lawsuit had been scheduled for a further case management hearing on 24 March, but according to court orders made on Thursday, the proceedings have been settled “on confidential terms".

Federal Court of Australia Judge Nye Perram, who presided over the short-lived lawsuit, granted Pandeli leave to file “a notice of discontinuance on terms that there be no orders as to costs".
