After his promotion to managing partner, Leaver has been tasked with delivering the firm's "people-centric" vision as it invests in bespoke AI products to remain competitive.

Almost six months into his role as managing partner of local commercial law firm Hicksons Lawyers, Cameron Leaver says he has been tasked with bringing the firm's "people-centric" vision to life in 2025.

His outlook for the year also has a deep technology focus. Leaver says the firm is investing in both in-house AI solutions and investigating new AI products as they come to market. But so far, off the shelf products have fallen short.

"Unfortunately most AI products that we have considered at this stage have proven to be far from a mature and effective solution and we are having to work with the product developers to make the AI suit our needs," Leaver said.

Capital Brief has reported previously on how law firms across the country are working to keep pace with one another's technology credentials, as well as the technology knowhow of their clients.
