Hrdlicka taps Bain alum, Virgin exec to help steer Endeavour’s hotels reboot
Alistair Hartley will come on board to help his former boss execute on a fresh program of hotel upgrades as part of her three-year turnaround plan.
Endeavour Group chief executive Jayne Hrdlicka has brought in her former Virgin Australia colleague Alistair Hartley to help drive the drinks giant’s revised three-year turnaround plan, unveiled on Wednesday.
Hartley led Virgin’s transformation program which helped take the airline to profitability in 2023 under Hrdlicka’s leadership, having entered voluntary administration three years earlier. He spent formative years of his career between 1999 and 2003 at management consulting firm Bain & Company at a time when Hrdlicka was also employed there.
“The changes that are required in the hotels business are very significant and someone has to get that done as fast as we possibly can,” Hrdlicka told Capital Brief on the sidelines of Endeavour’s investor day on Wednesday.
“Bringing him in brings very helpful experience in managing through complex change, and the importance of resetting strategically and resetting an operating model.”
