Infratil CEO says Australian and US investors still see AI as a 'fad'
Infratil CEO Jason Boyes is eyeing South East Asia for expansion and says Australian investors are less convinced about new tech than some of their global peers.
Infratil CEO Jason Boyes has labelled Australian and US investors as more skeptical than their peers in Asia when it comes to AI.
It's one of the key observations the boss of the ASX and NZX listed renewable energy and data centre-heavy infrastructure fund makes to Capital Brief in a wide-ranging interview about the future for Infratil and its international moves.
"Asian investors are very focused on AI as a long term sustainable trend, because that's what they see in their markets. And they have a real openness to learn about the US renewables market, where we are also invested through Longroad Energy," Boyes told us.
"In Australia and parts of the US, investors ask, is it sustainable or is it a passing fad? There would be hardly anyone we would talk to in Asia who would think the latter," he said.
