KPMG hearing videos taken down after HR executive divulges whistleblower info
The livestream of a recent public hearing was taken down and edited over concerns identifying information was disclosed.
The parliamentary committee investigating KPMG urgently took down video footage of a recent public hearing after one of the consulting firm’s own executives unintentionally revealed identifying information about the whistleblower at the centre of the audit leaks scandal.
The Parliamentary Joint Committee into Corporations and Financial Services summoned KPMG’s executives and lawyers to appear on 19 June after it mishandled whistleblower allegations that confidential client data was used to win contracts.
The livestream of the hearing drew as many as 6,000 viewers at one point, indicating the level of interest in the ongoing scandal.
While parliamentary hearings are typically available on ParlView and YouTube immediately after being broadcast, this hearing remained online until Monday 22 June before being set to private.
