Meet the exchange boss taking on the ASX
Emma Quinn, who heads up CBOE in Australia, wants to bring something different to local investors.
Earlier this year Emma Quinn took charge of CBOE Australia, the stock exchange formerly known as Chi-X. Quinn sat down with Capital Brief and laid out how she plans on taking the ASX competitor to the next level.
You started as CEO in March. How have your first six months in the top job been?
It’s been great. My first day on the job was when we did our big tech migration and that, with the help of the market and the regulators, was pretty seamless. It was probably one of the largest, if not the largest, tech migration that Australia has seen and it went off without a hitch.
That first week we didn't have to roll back anything, we didn't have to use any other versions, we didn't make any changes to the system. We implemented it on Monday and traded right through to Friday. That set up our strategy from the get go.
