Mike Sneesby moves to shore up board support as scandals engulf Nine
The Nine chief executive has been in contact with directors ahead of a board meeting, as crisis envelops the company.
Nine Entertainment chief executive Mike Sneesby has moved to shore up support on the company's seven-person board as multiple workplace scandals envelop the nation's largest domestic media operator.
Sneesby has fielded calls and been in contact with directors about the scandals ahead of a scheduled board meeting, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation. The board, which is chaired by former federal treasurer Peter Costello, was supportive of Sneesby when it convened last week, according to one of the sources, who could not speak publicly because the matter is confidential.
The board is scheduled to meet next week but could convene sooner, one of the sources said, with a meeting now expected on Thursday.
Nine has over the past fortnight been rocked by a series of media reports revealing allegations of inappropriate behaviour against former head of TV news Darren Wick.
