Sodali & Co plays both sides of WiseTech, Richard White saga
With a dwindling pool of competitors, it was only a matter of time before Sodali & Co found itself on both sides of a messy market situation.
It was only a matter of time before high-powered corporate communications firm Sodali & Co — formerly known as Morrow Sodali — found itself on both sides of a messy market saga. Enter WiseTech, the most valuable technology business on the ASX, and its embattled billionaire CEO, Richard White.
UK based Sodali & Co — which in late 2022 acquired Citadel-Magnus and then almost a year later bought rival firm Domestique Consulting — has two roles in the crisis surrounding White and the now $35 billion logistics software business he founded.
Sodali & Co managing director Helen Karlis has been engaged by White's lawyers at Clayton Utz to represent him, while Catherine Strong, also a managing director at the firm, is representing the board.
It's an arrangement that has privately sparked intrigue. It's not unusual for a CEO and board to engage different comms advisers in a crisis, but it is less common when that happens for them both to work for the same firm.
