News Corp Australia will reshuffle its executive team following the departure of veteran corporate affairs boss Campbell Reid, who is stepping back from daily management after more than three decades with the company.

In an email to staff on Monday, News Corp Australia executive chairman Michael Miller said Reid would step down from his role as group executive of corporate affairs, policy and government relations following extended conversations about his future.

News Corp has appointed Sally Fielke, most recently group corporate and Indigenous affairs officer at Coles Group, to run the company’s local corporate affairs operation. Georgia-Kate Schubert will now report directly to Miller as head of News Corp Australia’s head of policy and government affairs.

“Consequently with Campbell now to step down from the executive team and his full-time role at News, he has agreed to my request to continue to pursue his invaluable passion for innovative journalism as head of the Digital News Academy and will represent News as a director of the American Australian Association and chairman of the Mediality company,” Miller wrote in his email to staff, seen by Capital Brief.
