Nine Entertainment chief executive Mike Sneesby has launched a fresh investigation into the company's newsroom processes following a deluge of allegations made against a former senior executive that has enveloped the company in scandal over the past week.
The chief executive of the nation's largest domestic media company also denied signing any non disclosure agreements relating to the incident.
The investigation, which staff from across Nine’s television news division were told would likely be conducted by an external firm, was announced along with a string of other initiatives including a new hotline for complaints, according to two people present at the meeting.
“Quite clearly there is more information that is coming to hand,” Sneesby told Nine News staff on Monday afternoon. “We want to open up an investigation into our behaviours and processes across the Nine newsrooms.”
