One Nation draws level with Labor as voters blame immigration for housing crisis
An exclusive Capital Brief/DemosAU poll also shows the Coalition gaining ground for the first time in months.
One Nation has drawn level with Labor on primary votes for the first time, exclusive new polling shows, as the government grapples with anxiety over the escalating fuel crisis.
Less than a year after Labor secured its best ever election result, the Capital Brief/DemosAU poll shows that only 26% of Australians would now hand it their first preference — the same number that would opt for Pauline Hanson’s party.
And after Coalition Leader Angus Taylor unveiled a hardline immigration stance, it also suggested the majority of Australians blame immigration, not generous tax settings, for the national housing crisis.
The Coalition has also clawed back ground since February by rising two percentage points, with One Nation dropping by the same number.
