Pathzero has struck up new partnerships with S&P Global Energy, MSCI and Morningstar Sustainalytics to provide institutional investors with both private and public company climate data as mandatory climate reporting nears.

Pathzero, which launched in 2020, has historically provided emissions data on private businesses but not public companies. It is now moving towards housing all climate-related information for institutional investors, who currently have to rely on multiple providers and services.

Speaking to Capital Brief, Pathzero co-founder and chief executive Carl Prins said superannuation funds were moving at a reasonable pace given mandatory reporting starts on 1 July for asset owners with at least $5 billion.

Prins said large super funds such as $200 billion Aware Super and $100 billion HESTA were “moving along well”. Both use the Pathzero platform.
