Pinnacle's Macoun backs Metrics and looks to expand private markets portfolio
The company will look to add more private market affiliates and its managing director Ian Macoun says Metrics Credit Partners has a lot more room to grow.
Pinnacle Investment Management managing director Ian Macoun has brushed away concerns about its private credit affiliate Metrics Credit Partners and revealed plans to significantly expand his company's presence in private markets.
Macoun, who founded Pinnacle in 2006 told Capital Brief at the Macquarie Australia Conference that the recent noise surrounding Metrics was overblown, expressing confidence the fund manager and the broader asset class would experience further growth.
“We think Metrics is extremely high quality and we think that they have a huge number of very happy investors, and it'd be a shame if investors are frightened off private credit, for example, because they've got poor information,” he said.
Pinnacle's business model is to back 'affiliate' funds management businesses with seed capital, distribution and administrative support.
