Pexa Group has tapped Seven West Media’s chief regulatory and sustainability officer Clare Gill to run its corporate affairs operation, bringing to an end a near decade-long run as one of Australian media’s most prominent government agitators.

Gill, who was among the architects of the components that later formed the News Media Bargaining Code, will start at the ASX-listed property settlement platform in February next year, according to sources familiar with the appointment. Pexa Group declined to comment.

“Clare has made a significant contribution to Seven over the past four years in key areas such as government and regulatory affairs, sustainability strategy and policy development,” a Seven spokesman said, confirming her departure. “She leaves with our sincere thanks and very best wishes for the future.”

Gill first joined the Kerry Stokes-controlled media company as its head of government and regulatory affairs in early 2021, after four years at Nine Entertainment as its group director of regulatory affairs. She will work through to January.
