Slater and Gordon's incoming CEO on the class action firm's future growth
The sheer scale of mass data breaches are throwing up new challenges for consumer law firms.
Dina Tutungi has spent more than twenty years at Slater and Gordon, working her way up the ranks from paralegal to become the firm's next CEO.
In March, she will replace outgoing John Somerville, who is retiring. Tutungi spoke to Capital Brief about the challenges ahead in class actions and her goals for the next six months.
Having begun your career at Slater and Gordon 22 years ago, what are the main changes to the law firm's operations since then?
During my time, we have moved from not being listed, to listing, to no longer being listed. Being a listed entity no longer serves our future direction. The proposed new ownership structure of a private company, brings with it several benefits and importantly, provides our key lawyers the opportunity to gain meaningful equity in the business.
