Sussan Ley taps former Frydenberg advisor to run communications team
Kane Silom has joined the opposition leader's office from demoted Sarah Henderson.
Opposition leader Sussan Ley has hired Kane Silom, a staffer to former treasurer Josh Frydenberg, to run her communications team.
Capital Brief has confirmed that the experienced campaign operative, who was brought in to assist with the recent federal election, has joined Ley’s office as director of communications.
Silom served as senior media adviser and communications director to Fryenberg for more than five years, before the treasurer was defeated by teal independent Monique Ryan in 2022.
He joins Ley from the office Liberal MP Sarah Henderson, who the opposition leader booted from the frontbench in last month’s reshuffle. He previously worked for Liberal frontbenchers Andrew Robb and Bruce Billson.
