‘Unsettling’: Vinyl Group instructs Pedestrian staff to WFH ahead of job cuts
Vinyl Group acquired Pedestrian from Nine less than a week ago, with some staff now expected to be made redundant.
ASX-listed media business Vinyl Group has instructed Pedestrian Group staff to work from home as it prepares to axe an undetermined number of roles at the youth publisher, less than a week after acquiring it from Nine Entertainment.
In an email to Pedestrian employees on Monday, seen by Capital Brief, Vinyl Group requested staff avoid visiting the office, in Sydney’s Surry Hills, while a “process is completed” that will affect “some roles”.
“As part of integrating our two businesses, we have been reviewing our combined operational requirements. Following that review, we have made the difficult decision that some roles across the Pedestrian team will be affected,” it said.
“Out of respect for everyone involved, we want to be transparent that this process is underway, while also ensuring we handle each person’s situation with care and confidentiality.”
