‘We want to deliver it yesterday’: Hrdlicka clears the decks at Endeavour ahead of new strategy

The former Virgin Australia boss struck an impatient tone in the wake of her first earnings day with the drinks retailer, as a lower half-year profit sent shares tumbling.

A new era has officially begun at Dan Murphy’s and BWS owner Endeavour Group after Jayne Hrdlicka stepped into the role of chief executive in January — and a limp first-half result on Wednesday morning showed the scale of the challenge facing the former Virgin Australia boss.

“This is a time of significant change for us,” she told Capital Brief.

“We have not performed to the market’s expectations over a period of time. We have a very significant opportunity going forward, and we’re all very clear-minded to that.

“We’re impatient, and we want to deliver it. We want to deliver it yesterday. So there will be quite a lot that needs to change in order for us to execute against the opportunity that we have.”
