What Silicon Valley’s ‘arbiter’ of AI thinks of Firmus, Sharon AI and IREN
The most influential AI research firm in Silicon Valley has quietly scrutinised Aussie neoclouds. For ASX investors, its findings will raise eyebrows.
It may have started life as a Discord channel only six years ago, but American research house SemiAnalysis has quickly become one of the most influential sources of information about the AI industry.
In recent months it has been namechecked by everyone from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to CNBC presenter Jim Cramer who, as prominent US publication The Information reported in its profile of the outfit last month, described SemiAnalysis as “the arbiter. They’re like God” of AI.
So with industry leaders and global fund managers now using its research to guide AI chip spending and investment decisions, the SemiAnalysis verdict on the new crop of Australian AI companies rising to prominence carries considerable weight. And for some investors in them, it will also make for difficult reading.
Aspiring ASX-listed AI factory Firmus gets a solid endorsement, despite significant doubts over its immersion cooling technology.
