Australian Foundation Investment Company stays true to its long-term strategy — focusing on quality, patience and value — amid shifting markets and investor trends.
One of the oldest listed investment companies in the country, Australian Foundation Investment Company (AFIC) has learned patience over 96 years and countless market cycles.
At a time when many investors are busy repositioning portfolios for the incoming Trump administration or attempting to time interest rate movements, AFIC’s managing director Mark Freeman says his team remains focused on quality.
“Trading stock prices is a mug’s game. It’s about being patient and finding quality companies because they always seem to surprise on the upside in terms of longevity and great performance,” Freeman told Capital Brief, in an interview for our Past Performance series.
Tying yourself in knots over the macro picture is similarly futile, echoed senior portfolio manager David Grace.
