Why the AI revolution will be more incremental than instant

Artificial intelligence will transform the economy, but those on the cutting edge say the risks are overblown.

It’s a trope that predates the sci-fi genre: humanity creates something beyond its own understanding and that ultimately leads to its own downfall.

But while we have not yet come to grips with the technology and its broad repercussions, artificial intelligence (AI) is not going to be Frankenstein’s monster.

That’s the belief of Michael Kollo, an AI consultant, who says while there is plenty of ignorance around AI, there’s little to fear.

“Sensationalising AI doesn’t help anyone. It helps VCs get valuations but that’s about it,” he told Capital Brief.
