Wollemi's Tim Bishop praises super giant REST as 'ideal partner' following $230m deal
The impact investor has nabbed its largest commitment to date from one of the country's biggest institutions as part of its first-ever pooled fund.
Former Macquarie banker Tim Bishop says Wollemi Capital's USD150 million ($230 million) deal with industry superannuation fund giant REST will help the fledgling green manager scale its portfolio of climate-related impact investments.
REST's $230 million commitment is Wollemi’s largest since it was established in 2021. It had earlier secured from CBA, the University of Sydney and Seek founder Paul Bassat.
The investment manager been investing off its balance sheet until now but this new funding, which is part of its first-ever pooled fund, will be put towards four main groups of sustainability, infrastructure and decarbonisation-based ventures.
"Partnering with REST represents a significant step forward for Wollemi as we scale our investment in climate solutions. REST's deep commitment to sustainable investing and their focus on long-term member outcomes makes them an ideal partner for our first institutional investment vehicle," Bishop told Capital Brief.
