Xero faces allegations of pay discrimination, bullying in Fair Work lawsuit
The tech company is accused of breaching the Fair Work Act in a lawsuit brought by a software engineer who alleges she received unequal pay compared with her male colleagues.
Software company Xero and engineering manager Rupert Enwright are facing a Fair Work lawsuit from software engineer Ann Montagu-Navarrete.
Montagu-Navarrete has alleged in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia that she was subjected to bullying and received unequal pay compared with her male colleagues.
Under legal requirements in place since 1969, employees should be paid the same for performing the same work or different work of equal or comparable value.
According to Montagu-Navarrete’s statement of claim against the company, seen by Capital Brief, since at least 1 July 2022, she received a lower base salary than two of her male co-workers.
