4DMedical rallies after securing regulatory approval
The news: Lung function imaging company 4DMedical rallied after securing regulatory approval for its CT:VQ software in Canada. This approval enables immediate commercial deployment across North America and marks a significant expansion of 4DMedical’s presence in North America.
Shares of 4DMedical jumped 6.31% to $2.36 as of 2:28pm AEDT.
The context: CT:VQ is a software that scans a detailed map of lung ventilation and perfusion and is approved as a class 2 medical device by Health Canada.
With regulatory approval now secured in both the United States and Canada, 4DMedical’s partnership with Philips enables to leverage its established commercial networks, customers and clinical specialists to drive adoption and carry its North American CT:VQ sales target.
What they said: “This approval, combined with our recent Phillips partnership, positions 4DMedical to execute an aggressive North American rollout strategy,” 4DMedical CEO and founder Andreas Fouras said.
