A2 Milk declares $300m special dividend after regulatory approval
The news: A2 Milk has declared a $300 million fully franked and unimpeded special dividend to be paid on 24 July, following regulatory approval to transition its two Chinese infant formula registrations announced on Monday.
The context: This follows the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) approval to transition the company’s acquired product registration to a2-branded products.
The milestone concludes the final step in the company’s acquisition of the a2 Pokeno facility, securing all necessary regulatory approvals and removing its right to unwind the transaction.
What they said: “With the necessary China regulatory approvals now in place, the board is pleased to declare a $300 million special dividend,” chair Pip Greenwood said.
“This reflects our commitment to delivering shareholder returns while maintaining disciplined capital management,” she added.
