Air New Zealand names ex-Telstra finance lead Kris Cudmore as CFO

The news: Air New Zealand has appointed Kris Cudmore as its chief financial officer, effective 3 August, succeeding Richard Thomson.

The context: Cudmore currently serves as the infrastructure, planning and commercial lead for Air New Zealand. He worked for the airline in an advisory capacity for three years before formally joining the company at the end of 2025.

Cudmore brings a range of experience across strategic planning and capital management, having held senior finance and transformation lead roles, including most recently at Spark New Zealand and Telstra.

What they said: “His experience in commercial performance, capital allocation and long-term value creation will be important as we continue to deliver for our customers, shareholders, our people and New Zealand,” CEO Nikhil Ravishankar said.
