The news: Former Bank of Queensland chairman Patrick Allaway will continue as Bank of Queensland's chief executive and managing director as the regional bank abandons its search for a new boss.
The numbers: BoQ shares closed 1.2% lower at $5.94. BOQ will post its full year results in October.
The context: Allaway abruptly shuffled across from the chairman's seat into the CEO role in November 2022. It was initially viewed as temporary measure while BOQ searched for a replacement for then-chief executive George Frazis. Frazis left BOQ amid a reportedly tumultuous relationship with the board.
