The news: ALS has reported a 24.4% year-on-year increase in statutory net profit after tax to $318.7 million in FY26, driven by strong performance in its commodities testing division.

The numbers: For the full year, revenue rose 10.7% to $3.32 billion, while underlying earnings before interest and tax jumped 19.3% year-on-year to $599 million.

Free cashflow reached $674.1 million in FY26, with more than $580 million in pro-forma available liquidity. The company declared a full dividend of 23.1 cents per share.

The context: ALS stated that the positive earnings were driven by the organic revenue growth of 20.2% within its minerals testing business. The life sciences division also saw improved organic revenue expansions, supported by the food sector growth primarily in Europe and Asia, which helped offset mixed performance in the environmental and pharmaceutical segments.

The company is targeting mid to high single digit organic revenue growth across the group for FY27. It added that this positioning helps manage supply chain risks stemming from the Middle East conflict, preventing shortages and minimising direct costs impacts, with earnings risk estimated at $5 million to $10 million.
