AMP boss Alexis George to retire, CFO Blair Vernon named successor
The news: Financial services provider AMP has announced that its chief executive Alexis George will retire on 30 March, with the company's chief financial officer Blair Vernon picked as her successor.
The context: George will retire from executive work in March having led AMP since August 2021.
Vernon has served as AMP's CFO since July 2023, having previously been CEO of AMP New Zealand and acting CEO of AMP Australia before that.
What they said: "Alexis has guided AMP through a significant transformation that has streamlined the organisation and focused each business on its strongest growth opportunities," said AMP chair Mike Hirst.
"She stabilised the business and oversaw the successful sale of AMP Capital and the advice business whilst building a customer-focused culture."
