The news: Brian Montgomery has resigned as Ansell’s chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately, to join US-based medtech company Hologic as its new CFO.

The context: Ansell’s current Vice President of corporate FP&A and strategy transformation Fred Marx will act as the interim CFO as the company conducts a search for a permanent successor.

Marx has over 20 years of senior leadership experience across finance operations and strategy, the company said. He has previously served in roles including Vice President of finance for global operations and supply chain and finance director for the Americas and the medical division at Ansell. He also served as acting CFO during the previous CFO transition period.

In a statement to the bourse, the company said Montgomery would join Hologic, adding that company had been “recently acquired (by Blackstone and TPG) for about UD18 billion.”

What they said: "Brian has brought deep financial, strategic and operational leadership to Ansell, strengthening our discipline and supporting the company through an important phase of transformation, and we wish him well,” Ansell CEO Nathalie Ahlström said.
