ANZ appoints new head of business and private bank
The news: ANZ Group has announced Tammy Medard as its new business and private bank group executive, replacing Clare Morgan from 1 May 2026.
The context: Medard is currently the Australia and Papua New Guinea managing director of the institutional bank. She has held senior roles across institutional and risk divisions in Australia and Asia since joining the bank in 2007.
She will report directly to ANZ chief executive Nuno Matos in the new role, joining the executive committee with a focus on customer experience and growth as part of the ANZ 2030 strategy.
What they said: In a statement, Matos said he was confident Medard would bring out the best in ANZ’s institutional division.
“Tammy is an experienced and customer-focused business banker who has played a central role in building our market-leading institutional franchise in Australia,” Matos said.
In a statement, ANZ said Morgan will leave the organisation after a “comprehensive transition” having “completed the establishment of the division” and resetting performance and developing its digital strategy.
She marks the latest departure from ANZ’s senior ranks as Matos looks to install his own leadership team since taking over as CEO in April last year.
In November, Pedro Rodeia joined as ANZ’s new retail boss at the same time Donald Patra was named chief information officer. Christine Palmer was appointed chief risk officer in December.
