APA Group to build pipelines to CS Energy power plant
The news: APA Group has signed an agreement with Queensland state-owned power company CS Energy to deliver twin gas pipelines to its Brigalow Peaking Power Plant.
The numbers: The 23km pipelines will run from APA Group's existing gas transmission line in Roma, Queensland to the power station. The project will cost $140 million to develop and is due for completion in 2026. The project agreement is conditional on planning approvals.
The context: Under the agreement, APA Group will supply gas to the power station. Both the twin pipelines and power station have potential to be converted to run on hydrogen in the future.
