The news: ARN Media said that it has taken the Kyle and Jackie O show off air “effective immediately” after Jackie “O” Henderson said she cannot continue to work with co-host Kyle Sandilands.

The context: In a statement released to the exchange after market close on Tuesday, the media company said that it has terminated the services agreement with Henderson, under which she presents the popular radio show with Sandilands and has offered Henderson the possibility of an alternative show on the network.

ARN said that it has provided notice to Sandilands and his private company, Quasar Media Services, stating that Sandilands’ behaviour during the show on 20 February constituted an “act of serious misconduct which is in breach of ARN’s services agreement with Quasar Media.”

ARN has given Sandilands 14 days to remedy the breach. Should Sandilands fail to remedy the breach ARN will terminate its agreement with Quasar Media.

During the episode on 20 February 2026, the hosts were discussing the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in the UK, with Henderson saying: “I’m going to do that fixed star astrology chart on him, and see what it says.”

Sandilands replied later on: “Your fixation on this has made you almost unworkable...you were off with the fairies.” The comment prompted an on-air argument, with Henderson saying he was being unfair before Sandilands continued that Henderson was “not doing the rest of the job, and everyone in the building has mentioned it to me”.

The rupture would end a 25 year on-air partnership between the two hosts, who signed a $200 million agreement in 2023 to continue presenting the controversial breakfast in Sydney and Melbourne for the next ten years.
