ASX appoints Darren Yip as interim CEO

The news: The ASX has announced Darren Yip as its interim chief executive who will start in the role on 29 May when Helen Lofthouse departs.

Yip joined the ASX in 2023 and is currently group executive markets and listings.

The context: Yip will lead the ASX while the board continues its search for a permanent CEO.

ASX chair David Clarke said the global search for a new CEO was progressing.

What they said: “ASX plays a critical role in Australia’s financial system, and my priority is to maintain operational resilience, support our customers and continue to deliver against our key strategic and technology initiatives during this transition,” Yip said.
