Atlas Arteria lifts toll revenue in Q3, adds motorway in France
The news: Toll road operator Atlas Arteria has lifted toll revenue in the September quarter on the back of higher traffic and signed an agreement to operate an additional motorway in France.
The numbers: Weighted average traffic for the three months to September rose by 0.6% from a year ago, while average toll revenue increased 5% from a year ago, helped by toll increases and the Paris Summer Olympic Games.
The context: Atlas operates the APRR and ADELAC toll roads in France spanning a total 2,424 kms of motorway. In addition, its consortium with Eiffage has now also signed a concession agreement to design and build the A412 Thonon-Machilly motorway in France.
The concession is for 55 years and the project cost for the 16.5 kms motorway is expected to be between €400 million ($647 million) to €500 million, it said. Atlas also operates the Warnow Tunnel in Germany, as well as the Chicago Skyway and the Dulles Greenway in the US.
