Aware Super appoints Alex Satchcroft head of private equity

The news: Aware Super has appointed Alex Satchcroft as the superannuation’s head of private equity, effective immediately.
The context: Satchcroft will report to newly appointed head of private markets Jenny Newmach, who was previously the head of private equity.
Satchcroft joined Aware Super in April 2023 as a portfolio manager before being promoted to senior portfolio manager in the private equity division.
He brings over 20 years of experience across structured credit and equity investing in Australia, the UK and the US. He previously served as a principal at Apax Partners in London, before joining Macquarie Group’s principal finance division.
What they said: "He brings deep experience in private equity from some of the world’s most respected firms and is a thought leader in the private equity industry,” Newmach said.
“Combined with his deep understanding of Aware Super’s strategy and culture, he is exceptionally well placed to lead our private equity program and deliver the strongest possible risk-adjusted returns for our members,” she added.
