Aware Super promotes Simon Warner to chief investment officer
The news: Aware Super has appointed Simon Warner as its chief investment officer, effective 1 December, a promotion from his role as head of portfolio management.
The context: Warner will replace outgoing chief investment officer Damian Graham who announced his intention to step down from the role in May.
Warner joined Aware Super in 2023 as head of portfolio management and will now lead the fund’s 160-person investment team. The fund manages $205 billion worth of superannuation savings across equities, fixed income, infrastructure, property and private equity.
He was previously AMP Capital’s global head of public markets and JP Morgan Chase CIO for Australia and New Zealand.
