Aware Super’s property arm acquires $226m stake in Sydney CBD office tower
The news: Aware Real Estate has acquired a 50% stake in 100 Market Street, a 10-storey office tower in the Sydney CBD, for around $226 million, forming a new partnership with Link Asset Management.
The context: The asset is touted as an “A-Grade office building in one of the CBD’s premier commercial assets”. It has 28,339 square metres of office space and is fully leased and has a 5.5 star NABERS Energy rating.
Aware Real Estate is a property operating platform owned by Aware Super.
What they said: “This was a rare opportunity for the Aware Real Estate platform to acquire a high-quality Sydney CBD office asset with cornerstone government and corporate tenants,” Aware Super head of property Alek Misev said.
“Ideally located near transport and retail amenities, the building is well positioned to remain in demand through market cycles while appealing to a diverse range of businesses.”
