Bank of Queensland chair Warwick Negus to retire

The news: Bank of Queensland chair Warwick Negus will retire from the board, effective 24 October, with non-executive director Andrew Fraser appointed as his successor.

The context: Negus was appointed to the BOQ board in 2016 and became chair in 2023.

Fraser joined the BOQ board in February last year and currently chairs the bank's audit committee. He is also chair of Australian Retirement Trust, director of Brisbane Broncos and president of Motorsport Australia.

He has previously held a number of executive and non-executive roles, and served as a minister in two governments, including as Queensland treasurer between 2007 and 2012.
