Bapcor to merge specialist, wholesale divisions

The news: Auto parts supplier Bapcor says it is combining its Specialist Networks and Wholesale businesses to optimise the network and build scale to be more competitive in the market.

The numbers: The two businesses will be combined effective 1 July to form the ‘Networks’ business segment, comprising the Auto Electrical Group (AEG), Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) and Wholesale.

As a result of these changes, Bapcor’s Chief Strategy Officer Kristoff Keele will leave the business on 30 June. He was also interim Executive General Manager for Specialist Networks.

The context: Bapcor, which operates a network of 1100 stores across the Autobarn, Autopro and Burson brands, has appointed Craig Magill as the Executive General Manager for the combined Networks business. He is currently EGM for Specialist Wholesale.

The company said Steve Drummy, Executive General Manager for Trade is also leaving the business after 6 years with Bapcor. It has appointed former Orora executive Simon Bromell as the replacement, as it looks to move Trade into the next phase of growth. Bromell, who was most recently President of Orora’s Beverages division, has a background in delivering outstanding results in complex change and supply chain environments, Bapcor said.
