Barrenjoey co-founder John Cincotta to join ANZ board
The news: One of the founders of Barrenjoey Capital will join the ANZ Bank board from February. John Cincotta will become a non-executive director of ANZ from 15 February and step down from his role of the same name at Barrenjoey.
The context: Cincotta worked with foundation investors Barclays and Magellan to start Barrenjoey in 2020. The business has since become a prominent firm offering services in private capital, fixed income, equities, corporate finance and research.
Cincotta has worked in financial markets for more than 30 years. He held C-level roles at Deutsche Bank in Australia and also worked for Chase Manhattan Bank.
What they said: "John’s deep banking experience with a focus on strategy, risk and transformation will greatly benefit the banking boards as the bank continues to grow and evolve," ANZ chairman Paul O'Sullivan said.
